Turkey April – June 2019 – Cycle and more!

My first organised cycle with Fethiye Easy Riders. I only realised there were 9 or more cycling groups in the area of differing levels and focus. I hadn’t cycled for 7 years and even then it was for fitness on my own rather than being a “cyclist”. Before that, I dread to think when I last cycled any distance but it was the same basis…i.e. not a cyclist!

Gareth Patten organises the Easy Riders. It is a great springboard (or not) aimed at people who have never cycled before (or not much) and/or are re-visiting the experience. Again a lovely group of people.

We had a cycle along the cycle track past the boatyard at Karagozler and onto Aksazlar beach. Very pretty and not too many hills. I could like this!

On a cloudy day, we walked the Doga Camp route we hadn’t tried before. Great views over Oludeniz but the sea was a turmoil. The turquoise sea belies the huge swell and aerated surf. Pretty but not a safe place to swim.
